1. Who we are

One Love Food & Arts Market is operated by Birdy's Daughter Inc. (“One Love”, “we”, “us”), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit onelovemarket.ca or interact with our newsletter, vendor application, or events.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and any applicable provincial privacy laws.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide:

  • Newsletter signup: first name and email address.
  • Vendor application: business name, contact name, role, phone, email, social media handles, on-site contact details, business mailing address, vendor category, product description, prior vendor history, photos and supporting documents (Food Handler Certificate, TSSA Propane Certification, Certificate of Liability Insurance, booth setup photos), power and waste-handling preferences, signature, and any optional comments.
  • Sponsorship or press inquiries: the contact details and message you send us by email.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) and, if enabled, anonymous traffic analytics.

3. How we use your information

  • To process and review vendor applications.
  • To send you season updates, lineup announcements, and event reminders if you joined our newsletter.
  • To respond to inquiries about sponsorship, press, or general questions.
  • To comply with our partnership obligations to the City of Toronto and the Fort York / CityPlace BIA, and with Toronto Public Health requirements for food vendors.
  • To improve the website experience and understand visitor traffic patterns.

4. Service providers we share data with

We use the following third-party processors. Each has its own privacy practices and is bound by data-processing terms:

  • Vercel (United States) — website hosting and serverless function execution.
  • Vercel Blob (United States) — storage for vendor-uploaded photos and certificates.
  • GoHighLevel (United States) — CRM for newsletter contacts, vendor application records, and transactional email.

These providers may store and process your information outside of Canada (primarily in the United States). By using this website, you consent to that transfer.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe (every email contains an unsubscribe link).
  • Vendor applications: for the duration of the season plus three years for tax, insurance, and audit purposes, then permanently deleted.
  • Inquiry emails: retained for up to two years.

6. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Withdraw your consent and request deletion (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

To exercise any of these rights, email onelovefoodartsmarket@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use a minimal set of essential cookies required for the website to function and, with your consent, anonymous analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. You can decline analytics in the consent banner, or block cookies in your browser settings.

8. Children

The website and vendor application are intended for adults aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The market itself is family-friendly and open to all ages.

9. Photography at the market

One Love Market photographs and films the market, including vendors, performers, and attendees, for promotional purposes. By attending you consent to appearing in One Love promotional materials. If you do not wish to be photographed, please tell a member of our team on-site and we will accommodate where reasonable.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated by email to newsletter subscribers and active vendor applicants.
